Coach Ozzie grew up in Ecuador and Argentina, where he played for Ferrocarril Oeste leading his school team to several tournaments as captain. After moving to the United States Coach Ozzie played for the Varsity team at Deerfield Beach High School and later returned as assistant coach of the Bucks. Coach Ozzie also remained active as a player and spent two years with Bfut high performance as captain.
