COCONUT CREEK & EAST BROWARD MERGE TO FORM SOUTH FLORIDA ELITE
In its brief history, SFE has shown that it can achieve these objectives.  It is proving to be more formidable than its predecessors.  Last season, Coconut Creek won local and national tournaments, and three (3) division titles.  East Broward was equally successful on the local and national levels, winning at the recent President’s Cup.

Playing together, our U-13 boys (U-14 this season) took the championship at the recent Score at the Shore tournament in North Carolina.  Score at the Shore is a national tournament where the nation’s premier clubs compete.  Our boys represented SFE proudly, defeating LSTS FC Madrid, NJ (3-0), Triangle United, NC (2-1), Tampa Knights (5-2), Tampa Knights (4-1), and Triangle United 3-2 to become champions.

Playing together, our Club also won the Weston Spring Fling, Nova 5 v 5, and the GSA tournament in Atlanta.  We are also one of the top divisional teams in the Super Y League.

The Coaches

South Florida Elite’s coaches are:  Pitu & Charles (Directors of Coaching), Rodolfo Enrique Rodriguez, Christian Block and Mauricio Contreras.

South Florida Elite has an impressive coaching history, immediately.  Our team of highly regarded professional trainers has coached top-level soccer for a combined seventy-nine years, with the Directors of Coaching, Charles and Pitu, accounting for 20 of the 79 years.  Our coaches have coached and played professionally and semi-professionally in Europe, South America, and the United States, which provides South Florida Elite with a uniquely diverse base from which to develop and implement training techniques that are distinct to our Club, and second to none.  Professor Rodolfo was the former personal trainer for the international superstar, Diego Maradona.

Our coaches have the proven knowledge to help our players prepare psychologically and emotionally for the increased level of competition as they grow and become better recognized.  These techniques, in addition to exceptional skills training, give the Club a competitive advantage. Our coaches focus on the skill sets of the individual players, arming them with the technical skills (e.g., passing, shooting, defense, etc.) to manage and control the game under different scenarios.  Our girls and boys will continue to learn the strategic components of the game, putting them in a position to out-think, and therefore out-perform, opponents.  Player strengths will be fortified and weaknesses will be improved.

Other Benefits of the Merger

The benefits of SFE will extend far beyond just winning league and tournament championships.  SFE’s primary goal is to provide our children with a safe nurturing environment to develop their soccer skills and character as human beings.  SFE strives to create and develop talented, well-grounded members who can succeed at the collegiate and national/international levels.

To that end, SFE will offer it members:

1. Training and development from two of Broward County’s elite soccer trainers.  Charles’ and Pitu’s respective reputations and track records are impressive.  The combination of the coaches will provide SFE’s players with an unparalleled base for player development and training.

2.  Extra Professional Training:  In addition to the professional caliber training provided by our coaches, SFE will invite current and/or former coaches and players from national and/or international professional soccer clubs to hold special training sessions, exclusively for its members.

3.  A deep, rich talent pool.  SFE should have 2 teams in each age group from U-9s to U-12s, and 4 premier teams from U-13 to U-17.  By next year, our girls program should also increase exponentially.  Moreover, teams will no longer be playing with minimal substitutes, and will be able to practice as teams during the season.  Because of SFE’s depth, practices will be more competitive, and will lead to more rapid player development.

4.  The increased ability to attract new and young talent.  As we know, player movement is common amongst local soccer clubs.  Additionally, there is a constant influx of young soccer talent into our area, and young children who are interested in playing the game.  SFE will be positioned to attract, sign, and retain these players.  We should be able to attract the youngest stars, develop and hone their skills through our Academy, our coaches’ exceptional training and strong parental support, and retain them through the U-18 rank.

5.  Confidential Individual Player Evaluations:  Our coaches will endeavor to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each individual player, and to provide a confidential player evaluation.  Strengths will be further improved.  Weaknesses will be targeted with specific, individualized drills and workout programs designed to enhance specific areas of a player’s game.

6.  Separate Workout Programs:  Our coaches recognize and appreciate the different levels of player/parental commitment to soccer outside of SFE.  For the players who wish to workout, outside of normal practices, our coaches will design workout programs.  The programs will take into account the respective players’ scholastic and other commitments.  This is voluntary for each player.

7.  Developing Player Profiles:  At the premier level, SFE will work with players to develop their profiles.  These profiles can be used to assist the players in preparing for college and professional scouts.

8.  College Preparation:  SFE will endeavor to forge relationships with local and national college coaches to better assist our players with college opportunities.  SFE’s website will eventually contain information about college preparation, including dates for entrance exams, preparation courses, and the application process.  The website will also contain information about soccer scholarships, including form letters to and from college coaches, and information about the top college soccer programs.

9.  Nationally Recognized Tournaments:  SFE will continue Coconut Creek’s and East Broward’s tradition of playing in local and nationally recognized tournaments.  Tournaments will be selected and communicated to players and parents at the beginning of the season.  This will enable players and parents to properly plan for each tournament, including making appropriate and timely travel arrangements.   Tournaments may be added during the season, for which SFE will endeavor to give players and parents as much notice as possible.

10.  Exposure to National and professional teams:  With the increased national presence, SFE’s players will have opportunities to be scouted by the national and professional teams.  Our Directors of Coaching have contacts with professional clubs in Europe and South America, and have produced professional talent.  At least one current member of SFE is being recruited by the U.S. national team.  Over the years, SFE anticipates that it will produce many players of this caliber.

11.  Ranking:  With the combined points of East Broward and Coconut Creek, SFE should be at the top of regional and national rankings.  SFE will continue to focus on ways to improve the Club’s and its players’ profiles and ranking, including identifying appropriate tournaments and other competition.  Information on rankings can be found at nationalsoccerranking.com and gotsoccer.com.
